LabNet MDS is a service that puts Italian haematologists who specialise in Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) in touch with highly specialised labs where they can request molecular investigations, histopathological and morphological analyses for the correct diagnosis and monitoring of the disease. The service is provided via the labnetmds.gimema.it web platform.
Currently, there are 14 Italian labs signed up to this service, 13 of which perform cytogenetic and FISH analyses, and 1 providing morphological consultancies.
The more ambitious goal is to offer equal opportunities in diagnosing and treating patients suffering from MDS in any Italian haematological centre.
During a subsequent stage of the project molecular biology investigations will be performed with a view to offering a guided diagnostic and therapeutic path, structured around al algorithm built in accordance with updated and consolidated guidelines and clinical-diagnostic findings specially devised for the management of MDS patients.
LabNet MDS Labs
There are currently 13 cytogenetic and FISH labs that have signed up to the LabNet MDL and 1 morphology lab throughout Italy.
