JakNet is the service that puts Italian haematologists specialising in Philadelphia-negative Chronic Myeloproliferative neoplasms (Ph- Chronic MPNs) in contact with labs that perform genetic and anatomopathological analyses based on the WHO classification and the indications of the European Leukemia Net. The service is provided via the jaknet.gimema.it platform.
At present, 46 Italian molecular biology labs have performed internal and intra-laboratory assessments in order to standardise lab procedures for the assessment of JAK2V617F; and 62 anatomopathological labs that have taken part in meetings to share and define accuracy standards for the analysis of histological samples.
The platform is operational for research on the JAK2V617F mutation and histological investigations.
All the pathologists taking part in the project meet on annual basis for refresher training courses, where clinical study cases are analysed interactively.
JakNet Labs
At present there are 46 labs that have signed on to the JakNet network and 5 more are currently being vetted for participation.
